Intravenous Antibiotic Therapy

Home antibiotic (IV) therapy is generally used for patients who have not responded to oral antibiotics. Patients with long term IV antibiotic or antiviral therapies require ongoing clinical monitoring. The Premier Infusion team works closely with the patient’s physician so that the appropriate therapy and care is being delivered.

    • Treatment

    Home IV antibiotic/anti-infective medications will either be given by a slow IV push or via the use of an ambulatory infusion pump. You will be provided the necessary education, training and support in order to have you or a caregiver administer your therapy. Please be aware that at Premier, patients and caregivers have access to a pharmacist 24 hours a day / 7 days a week for clinical questions or any additional support with the pump or medication.
